Hi, My name is Shirley Abella. I am a native American English tutor from Huntsville, Alabama, U.S.A. and currently residing in Quezon City, Philippines. I've been teaching English continuously since 1996 up to the present to Chinese, Filipinos, Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Vietnamese and other Asian nationals.

My training:

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree, major in Sociology minor in English and Masteral Units in Family Life and Child Development. Likewise, I have special training in Teaching American Accent and Accent Reduction to foreigners, teaching children (ages 3-8) how to read, write and understand English.

My experience:

As a freelance English tutor, I have taught students on a person to person basis ( both face to face and on line), as a group or as a class. My expertise is on sentence construction, conversational English, idiomatic experssions, pronunciation and accent training. I have also taught children reading, comprehension and writing skills. As an integral part of teaching English to children, I also do storytelling.
